The principal plant named Elaeis guineensis Jacq. (Arecaceae) or Palm Oil tree. The origin is located in the tropics of Africa and Angola. These days the cultivations are widespread all over the tropics in the world. The Main cultivations are in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Two different oils will be prepared out of the fruits from the palm oil tree:
| Refined Palm Oil
| RBD Palm Oil
- Palm Oil
- Palm Kernel Oil (see there)
Palm Oil will be produced by pressing the oil out of the fleshy mesocarp (the stringy fruit meat around the nut) by pressing the whole fruit. The kernel will be destroyed within this process and will be used for the separate production of Palm Kernel Oil.
